General Updates – 10 August, 2023
Electricity issues have leveled off somewhat, and we have learned to work around those we have. We still have load shedding every day, but it is only for 2 hours, usually twice daily. Fortunately, we haven’t had any Stage 6 days where we have 2-3 4-hour sessions of no power. Our security system batteries only last 3-3 ½ hours, so that is a big problem at night. I usually stay up and stand watch during those times. Pray for this to remain below Stage 4.
Water is not much of a problem for us since I installed the 2700-liter water tank. We have yet to be without water, but many neighbors aren’t so lucky. They must work around water shedding starting in the afternoon and going most of the night. Pray for those in our area without an alternative supply of water.
Big Praise – our insurance issues with my car accident have all been resolved. The insurance paid out as a total loss, and we received full market value.
Our Safety has been good, thanks to God’s provision of our security system. Crime is still high here, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
Next Update, I will give you feedback on what the Mayor has to say about these issues.
Regarding our VISA’s – Kims was approved, and mine was rejected. Even though the applications were identical except for the name. (go figure) Zach’s was also rejected for a ridiculous reason. We have both filed for appeals and don’t know when to expect a reply. I ask for fervent prayer on this. .
Also, please pray, I have a shoulder impingement that can sometimes be very painful. I can’t sleep lying down, so I sleep in a chair each night. Not fun, but we persevere.
God tells us to pray without ceasing. I plan to keep you updated on all past prayer requests until I feel God has answered them, so please keep praying.
